We support children and young people with disabilities to be confident and resilient, amplifying their voice to demand their own inclusion.
For too long children with disabilities have been forgotten, hidden and systematically left behind. A key reason is that the children and their parents have been unaware of their rights and disempowered in the fight for justice.
We have been working in East and Southern Africa to ensure the
protection of children with disabilities within their communities. Over
the last five years…
They need to amplify.
Through no fault of their own, children with disabilities are consistently excluded, discounted and discriminated against in all walks of life.
Denying children with disabilities their equal rights in this way has a lifelong impact. It can lead to a life of poverty, discrimination, dependence and abuse.
But every child has the right to feel safe, the right to go to school,
and the right to be heard.
Grace was born with a physical disability which meant her limbs didn’t develop. She also didn’t have access to any of the equipment she desperately needed in order for her to live a full life.
